Amber Integrated October 2022 Oklahoma General Election Survey
Amber Integrated has released a new survey measuring attitudes about the Nov. 8 general election in Oklahoma. The survey was conducted from Oct. 13-15, 2022, and included a pool of 500 likely voters. It has a margin of error of 4.4% at a 95% confidence interval. Crosstabs are embedded below.
Key findings include:
The governor’s race is now a dead heat between incumbent Governor Kevin Stitt and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister, with 45.3% of voters saying they will vote for Stitt or “lean towards” voting for him and 45.9% saying the same of Hofmeister. Independent candidates Natalie Bruno and Ervin Yen command the combined support of 4% of likely voters. Five percent remain undecided. Stitt’s favorable rating stands at 42%, compared to 52% who have an unfavorable opinion of him. Hofmeister’s favorable rating stands at 48%, with 38% having an unfavorable opinion of her.
Republican Ryan Walters has opened up a lead over his Democratic opponent Jena Nelson. In a KOCO/Amber Integrated poll conducted in late September, Walters trailed Nelson 44% to 49%. In this most recent survey, Walters leads Nelson 52% to 43%. Walters appears to have made significant inroads among Republicans (+10% since September), independents (+10%), and women (+11%).
Republicans in all other statewide races appear on track for sizable victories. They include:
Lt. Gov: Matt Pinnell (+22),
State Treasurer: Todd Russ (+21)
Corporation Commission: Kim David (+21)
Labor Commissioner: Leslie Osborn (+20)
U.S. Senate: James Lankford (+16)
U.S. Senate: Markwayne Mullin (+13)
